My name is Mary-Elaine Cox.
I am a Therapist and Energy Healer located in Wandsworth, South West London.
I offer several different therapies including Reiki Healing, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy / Hypnotherapy and Spiritual Healing. As a therapist I work on the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies as is needed. As a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist (Talking Therapy) I identify areas that are out of harmony / balance and apply the correct healing therapy, whether this is Reiki, CBT Hpnotherapy, Spirtual Healing or a combination.
I am also training as a Medium and Psychic messenger.

The way I work
Many of our problems have a strong emotional and/or spiritual basis. On contacting me we'll discuss what the problem appears to be - and explore its roots. From this point we will choose the most suitable and beneficial therapy - a therapy that you're comfortable with.
Currently, due to Covid 19 restrictions, I am only able to provide distant/absent healing. I act as a channel for Reiki/Conscious Energy Healing.. Remote healing only takes a short period of time, around 30 minutes . In their feedback, many of my clients have expressed an almost immediate sense of positive improvement. For some people with perhaps deeper, more complex issues, a few healing sessions may be necessary.
With added focus we will explore triggers and causes, and unravel some may be lying dormant. Often, harnessing my Cognitive Therapy Training and spiritual insights, this therepeutic approach provides a recognised accredited therapy with an added spiritual intuition.

I believe that part of the healing process is that I also teach you methods and techniques that enable and empower you. Enabling you to become your own counsellor and support as you find your path through difficulties and challenging issues. You already possess the ability to master difficulties and make positive long-term changes. Your feelings and thoughts are unique to you, and you can take control of them.
As a counsellor, I'll work in collaboration with you and together we'll explore your needs. I'll help you to recognise negative automatic thinking behind any issues and guide you towards identifying the solutions.
Cognitive Behavioural / Hypnotherapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT, is a type of psychotherapy in which negative patterns of thought are challenged in order to alter unwanted behaviour patterns or treat mood disorders such as depression.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy takes CBT counselling a step further. When you experience cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy you will enter a deeply relaxed state in which you can better address issues that are troubling you, such as stress, anxiety, depression, phobias, self confidence and many others. In this deeply relaxed hypnotic place you will clear the negative patterns of thinking replacing these with positive reinforcements.
I am a counsellor and have a diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy with hypnotherapy. In the recent past I have also tutored students during their training at The UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.
What you can expect from Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy
Prior to our first session we'll have a twenty minute telephone conversation to discuss your issues and concerns and establish whether CBH help you. We'll then arrange to have a full session in my calm, comfortable therapy space* where I'll help you to recognise your automatic negative thoughts and feelings. It's similar to tackling an overgrown garden by tracing problematic roots and digging them out.
* Unfortunately, in compliance with the current lockdown restrictions, I am only holding online therapy sessions at the moment.
Using CBH, together we'll identify and restructure your negative core beliefs and self-talk, which will be strengthened further by hypnotherapy. You'll be fully conscious at all times during hypnotherapy, yet deeply relaxed.
Let's face it, you can't relax if you're feeling stressed. Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy provides you with the opportunity to address deeply-held thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment and make positive changes.
What if I can’t be hypnotised?
Hypnosis is a very personal experience but 98 per cent of people respond well to it, so the chances are that it will work for you.

Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy may be all that you need to bring positive changes into your life. However, if you’re open to adding to your experience, we can discuss whether trying an additional healing technique like Reiki, deep spiritual and shamanic healing would be beneficial for you.

I work from a peaceful dedicated healing and counselling space in Merton Road, Wandsworth, London SW18. It's within easy reach of central London, close to Putney and Earlsfield and just 10 minutes from Clapham Junction by road. Southfields and East Putney underground stations on the District Line are also nearby. Alternatively, if you are unable to travel, we can discuss a home visit or contact through Skype.
Should there be sufficient interest, I plan to set up talks and discussions structured around a very informal question and answer format.
